Article

Tania El Khoury is a Lebanese-British live artist whose work has been performed at festivals and in public spaces around the world. El Khoury’s practice engages audience interactivity and the politics and ethics of audience collaboration. Often addressing displacement, borders, and the politics of space, El Khoury’s performances also explore the violence that manifests at intersections of gender and of ethnic identity. El Khoury’s contemporary performance practice conceptually connects to modernism, most notably to the Theatre of the Absurd as articulated by Martin Esslin.
